Prodigy
Club Class Rules

A. Introduction
These guidelines are intended as a
guide for competition in the Prodigy Club Class sailboard class, and
should be used to govern Prodigy Club Class one design racing within
the
United States, during the year 2003.
The intention of these Club Class
Rules is to ensure that competition is conducted on the basis of
maximum
conformity to one-design equipment principles, while maintaining a
minimum of formal measuring, policing and enforcement. These class
rules
should be interpreted in the spirit of this intention.
B. General
- The US national authority for the class is the Prodigy One
Design Class Association.
C. Hull
- The sailboard hull should be a stock Mistral Prodigy model,
manufactured by Boards and More, or a manufacturer licensed by Boards
and More, and identified as such by factory markings.
- The mast track should be of a fixed type, as supplied with
the Mistral Prodigy Starter model. At the discretion of the race
director, an adjustable mast track may be permitted, if it is fixed in
a
non-adjustable position and not adjusted during a race.
D. Hull Appendages
- A stock “Starter” fin, designated by Boards and More, as
supplied with the Mistral Prodigy Starter sailboard, should be used.
- A stock “Starter” centerboard designated by Boards and
More, as supplied with the Mistral Prodigy Starter sailboard, should be
used.
E. Rig
- A stock “Start” model 5.5 meter sail, as manufactured by
North or a firm designated by Mistral, and supplied with the Prodigy
Start package, should be used.
- Stock rig components, including mast and boom, should be
used, as supplied with the Prodigy Start package, except that any type
of universal joint and mast base may be used .
F. Equipment and modifications
- Modifications to the hull and rig are not permitted, except
for repairs which do not change performance characteristics.
- Adjustable downhauls or outhauls are not permitted.
- Personal equipment including a harness, PFD, water bottle,
etc. is permitted.
- Weight vests are not permitted.
