Competition Guidelines

11/24/02, revised 6/20/03, 7/15/03

A. Introduction

These guidelines are intended as a guide for competition in the Prodigy sailboard class, and should be used to govern Prodigy class one design racing within the United States.

These guidelines are a simplified version of the “Mistral Prodigy Class Rules”, developed by the International Mistral Class Organization, which should apply to Prodigy class racing within the United States, except where modified by these guidelines, or by sailing instructions.  Prodigy class competition at US events is expected to take place in accordance with the rules for the Stock Mistral Prodigy Division, as defined by Section C.2.3.e, and other relevant portions of the Mistral Prodigy Class Rules.

The intention of these Class Rules is to ensure that competition is conducted on the basis of maximum conformity to one-design equipment principles, while maintaining a minimum of formal measuring, policing and enforcement.  These Class Rules should be interpreted in the spirit of this intention.
