The Prodigy Club Class program
combines the Prodigy Starter version sailboard with the Prodigy Starter
sail. It’s the perfect format for clubs, schools, and community
sailing. It’s a simple, all-purpose racing class.
The 5.5 meter sail
is light, easy to rig, and easy to store. Beginners can start
with
it; smaller people can handle it; anyone can use it.
The Starter rig is designed primarily for displacement mode sailing in lighter winds. The Prodigy/Starter combination is ideal for club racing on inland lakes, or anywhere that dinghy racing takes place, and it’s great for youth and junior racing. You can sail the same courses in the same conditions as any other small boat racing class. But it’s more fun standing up!
Prodigy Club will be a racing class at US Sailing Junior Olympic Festivals.
With 255 liters of
volume, and a wide profile, the Prodigy is easy to learn on, and easy
to
sail in all conditions. It’s a fun, tactical board to race.
The Starter model Prodigy is equipped with a fixed mast track and basic centerboard and fin, and is available with a soft deck. These features provide maximum ease-of-use, maneuverability and simplicity, for beginners and for moderate performance racing in all conditions. An optional adjustable mast track and high performance components are also available, which transform the Starter into the Comp model.
